Our Story

Welcome. If you’re here, it’s because your life has been touched by dementia. So has mine—in fact, that’s why I founded Tender Rose.

When my mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, I began to research everything I could about her condition so I could help her live her best possible life. The first thing I learned? How important it is to find the right caregiver.

My mother spent time with two primary caregivers. Pam engaged my mom in conversation and activities she loved, while the other caregiver was really just a babysitter. During Pam’s shifts, my mom had a great day—but when the second caregiver was there, her condition seemed to worsen. That’s when I realized it takes a very special type of caregiver to connect with a person living with dementia.

My mother passed away in 2015. My siblings and I took comfort in knowing we did everything we could to fill her final years with joy and meaning.

I founded Tender Rose with a mission: to improve the quality of life for people living with dementia. I was able to do that for my mother. I would be honored to do the same for your loved one.
